BLOG: Miami Horror, Pikachunes & Mark Ronson
Wednesday , 08 Sep 2010It must suck for those Christshurch residents - having a shaky old time. Ive never been in an earthquake so I don’t really have any idea what it's like, but I'm pretty sure that there must be some people who experienced it in some weird places. Toilets, showers, baths? Screw that crap. My cousins were staying in the 19th floor of a hotel and for some South Island reason they left the bath full of water. When the quake struck it smothered the entire bath room and apparently there was no water left in the bath. Awesome but sucky.
Woah! What a busy few weeks I’ve had! Sorry I haven’t put anything up but I have got some great new tracks and albums for you. Firstly I've been smashing out the latest Miami Horror album Illumination. Kimbra who you may know from the old Rockquest back in the day, moved over to Australia and now features on their latest single I Look To You. Im a big fan of the video check it out.
In New Zealand the wonderful Pikachunes has done a remix for Tono & The Finance Company’s Barry Smith of Hamilton. It's in true Pikachunes style and has got that 80’s programmed electronic feel. Have a listen and download it for yourself.
Also, The Naked & Famous have released their debut album this week. I’ve listened to the album and it's really really good. No doubt you have heard all the singles, but my other favourite tracks would have to be Frayed & The Ends. Its got quite an airy vibe and a lot of experimental sounds; they definitely know how to use their gear.
Go buy the album.
If you are a fan of Bang Bang Bang you may have heard there's a new Mark Ronson song out too. It's called The Bike Song. Try it, you might like it.
