He was signed to prestigious US Hip Hop label Duck Down records, saw his second album The Rose Tint get 60,000 full album downloads and then the deluxe version of the album debut at #3 on the NZ Album chart, making it the highest debut for a Hip Hop album in 2011. He saw two of his tracks getting playlisted on MTV in the U.S and appearing on shows like Entourage, Beverly Hills 90210 and ESPN's coverage of the French Tennis Open and the NBA. He was nominated for 3 awards at this years NZ Music Awards and play to sell out crowds in New Zealand, Australia and in America. David is back in New Zealand for the Kiwi summer, playing shows like Rhythm & Vines, Homegrown and the 2012 Big Day Out.
Knives At Noon - New Lighter

Four piece Dunedin alternative outfit Knives At Noon first came to the public’s attention after the release of their ‘Glitter Guts’ EP in 2010. First single 'Violins and Violence' boasted a futuristic video shot on White Island and won the band fans from NZ and afar after it featured extensively in hit show Home and Away! Knives At Noon are well known for their blistering live performance having opened for the Smashing Pumpkins and Vampire Weekend, and have played extensively around NZ with highlights being Homegrown and Big Day Out 2011. Expect their debut album in 2012!
Funkommunity - What You Give

Funkommunity’s Isaac Aesili and Rachel Fraser are no strangers to the NZ Music Scene. Having played, toured and collaborated with some of the country’s top artists, the prolific pair now joined forces to create their debut album Chequered Thoughts. A forward-thinking album of future soul music, Funkommunity’s smooth stylings create a sunny-side up album perfect for the ensuing summer.
Bonjah - The White Line

Austrailan-based kiwi 5 piece Bonjah are making waves across the Tasman in a big way. Rolling Stone christened them as 'Ones To Watch' and with the release of their new album Go Go Chaos they are proving that they have the goods to show the Aussies how it's done. Having recently completed an extensive Australian/NZ tour and appearing all over the Aussie airwaves it wont be long until (like Pavalova and Russell Crowe before them) the Aussies claim them as their own. Until then Kiwis can be secure in the fact that Bonjah are proud kiwi lads who make tunes perfect for a long hot kiwi summer.
Lisa Crawley - Blind Eyes

Blind Eyes is the 3rd single from Lisa Crawleys debut album "Everything I Have Seen". The music video was recorded in New York over a 5 day shoot discovering the city. From curious stints in Japanese hotels, English pubs, Danish jazz clubs, and most recently a series of performances and music video shoot in New York, Lisa has travelled the world getting by on a song, quite literally. It’s little wonder that she has been hand picked to tour in New Zealand with artists as varied as John Mayer, Jools Holland, Nathan Haines, Julia Deans and Paul Weller, scoring rave reviews wherever she pops up.
Badd Energy - Third Eye

'Third Eye' is the latest single from Auckland-based band Badd Energy. A psychedelic mix of guitars, drum machines and genres, Sam Moore, Coco Solid, Trixie Darko and J.Suave make up this trippy quartet that kick out motley jams blending stoner-swamp riffs with laid back 808 raps. The exciting 'Third Eye' video was directed by visual artist Jason Howden and produced by Sarah Wensley. And is suitably apt, taking you away to a world of pyramids, fantasy and pyschedelic adventure. 'Third Eye' is the first single off their follow-up album 'Underwater Pyramids' set for release through Flying Nun Records next year.

1995 - Nowhere Slow

With a name like 1995 you might expect this Auckland based five-piece to exude the heavy grunge guitar sounds that became popularized during that era of music history. Instead 1995’s sound is a mix of dark, cold alt-rock. Pulsing rhythm section, driving guitars and baritone vocal give them a sound that is uniquely their own. Having recently played a bevy of gigs across Auckland including BStreet and Zombie Prom and being heard all across national alternative radio airwaves, 1995 are set for a big 2012. Watch out for their debut full length album to be released next year.
Secret Knives - Black Hole

The “band,” at least in recorded form, is actually just one guy: Wellington-based Ash Smith. Affection is entirely a labor of his love, from the Conor Oberst-esque vocals to the echo-laden guitars, piercing synths and jarring loops. The sum of all these parts is tremendously moving music that takes elements of shoegaze, post-rock, and bedroom electronica and forms them into something unique and exciting. Smith has a tremendous amount of talent, and it’s a joy to hear all the different ways it manifests itself on just a single track. Album stand-outs “Black Hole” and “The Garden” have such a full sound, brimming with all the aforementioned elements, that it’s difficult to believe that it’s just one guy making all of them. It might all be overwhelming if it weren’t for the occasional palate cleanser, like the “Treefingers”-esque “Future Wave.”
SinSin - Sorry But I'm Falling Down Again

Motocade guitarist Geordie McCallum returns with a new project under the moniker SinSin to create a vibrant mix of shoe gaze and ambient rock. Bringing together three eclectic artists from three renowned Kiwi acts, Geordie is joined by Zowie bass player Harry Champion and Kerretta drummer Hamish Walker in the live line-up. Citing influences such as The Dirty 3, Nick Cave, The Clean and Radiohead, SINSIN’s debut EP Layers shifts from spooky instrumentals to shoe-gaze, pop-rock numbers.
Sleepy Age - Paul Simon

Sleepy Age is a four-piece indie pop band who create a melody heavy pop music in an rock band setting. Tinkling bell/organ melodies teamed with driving bass drums and guitars organise nostalgia and excitement similar to that of 1950's suburban American housewife in 2009 watching Fedel Castro's infamous Ed Sullivan appearance while listening to modern rock music.
Sleepy Age were the overall winners of RDU 's 2009 'Roundup Competition'.
Butterfly Caught - Pacific Sunrise

Butterfly Caught is the brainchild of Jason Peters, drummer for 90's band Pumpkinhead. Fusing lounge, jazz, and ambient electronica drizzled over groovy beats, Pacific Sunrise is the second single from forthcoming album "Hope is not Lost" due for release via LOOP in 2012.
Spartacus R

Psychedelic rock six-piece, Spartacus R, have relentless energy for crafting new music, at times raw and wild, other times achingly beautiful, but always uncompromised to its core. With several national tours and a critically acclaimed debut album under their belts, Spartacus R have made a welcome return to the local music scene and have just released their ambitious sophomore album The View on which “Rapata” features.
