FILM: Will Farrell Knocks Inception From Top Spot
Tuesday , 10 Aug 2010Will Ferrell movie The Other Guys has knocked Inception off the top of the US box office. The police parody, which also stars Mark Wahlberg, made $35.6m (£22.3m) in its opening weekend, according to early estimates.
Christopher Nolan thriller Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, had been at number one for the past three weeks.
Another new entry this week, dance sequel Step up 3-D, went straight in at number three, taking $15.5m (£9.7m). The Other Guys was made with Ferrell's frequent collaborator, writer and director Adam Kay.

Rory Bruer, Sony's president of worldwide distribution, said Ferrell and Kay were "at the top of their game."
"They bring out the best of each other," he said.
