GIG: Passion Pit Sell Out Powerstation
Thursday , 08 Jul 2010Passion Pit’s Auckland show at Powerstation on 30 July has sold out.
Due to high demand the venue was changed to the Powerstation from the original Montecristo Room venue. The mastermind out fit are jumping over the ditch before their Aussie Splendour In The Grass appearance early August.
Tickets to the gig will now be treated like gold as the last minute slackers decide they can't quite possibly miss the truly unique psychedelic band who hail all the way from Boston. After a brief visit to Auckland's Big Day out this year, they decided it wasn't such a bad country after all and New Zealand was must return to venue. Two shows in the one year from this electronic indie pop group is bigger than huge.
What began as a Valentine’s Day gift for his then girlfriend has now become a treasured album among fans world wide. I am sure at the time Passion Pit's front man Michael Angelakos didn't know himself what success was waiting to greet him.
The complex 21st century sound which will soar through the hearts of all kiwis is bound to be one of the musical highlights 2010 has to offer.
Tickets on Trade Me for the show are scarce which leads me to believe not even the scalpers are willing to trade their place for the momentous occasion.
