LEE'S STYLE BLOG: Beloved Rip It Up Essentials
Wednesday , 26 Oct 2011
To start off the style blogs on Rip It Up we are going to take it back to basics, back to our favorite jackets, holy Motley Crue t-shirts, ripped jeans and we better not forget our ever precious Dr Marten boots. These items of clothing portray comfort, your personal style and most of all the history that is gathered over it's life-time.
Outfits that are constructed from any of the following items can some times conjure up the ‘you look like you're in a band’ style and has encouraged celebs, models and band wannabes to take these essentials to the high fashion streets. To our disapproval, their uniqueness has been over exposed and with large price tags.
Your style should express your personal tastes and desires. We praise the mums for patching up our old jeans and never throwing away our favourite tees, the opshops for being so cheap and the retro wardrobes that still exist.
Lets hear it for our beloved Rip It Up essentials!

The classic leather jacket. The biker style jacket is the best, especially when they have been personalised with band patches, studs, badges or general wear and tear.

Denim jackets, black skinny jeans, cut-off shorts – we love them all and they make up the basis for any outfit.

We are still digging the ripped jean shorts this summer, just try a little higher waisted and baggier at the bottom.

Who can't live without their Aviators and Wayfarers? These styles are timeless and forever being adapted slightly to modern styles - although we always look back to the classics.

Boots galore! Doc boots any style are essential for your winter and now summer outfits. Look great with short skirts and jean shorts in summer. Boots will be around forever, so make them your own - experiment with heights, give them some wear and tear and even a bit of tagging wouldn't hurt.

Chucks - high tops, low tops, originals, dirty...What more can we say, definitely an essential item of clothing for your wardrobe.

Band and product tees certainly express your personal tastes and style, but you better only wear a t-shirt of a band that you know and love.

Plaid (checkered) shirts are definitely one of my favorite items. They are wearable for both men and women, and are usually suitable for all seasons.
