NEWS: Aftermath Of Weezer Hate Campaign
Friday , 08 Oct 2010The aftermath of Weezer hater James Burns' campaign to raise $10 million to give to the band in hopes of them calling it a day. According to an interview with The New York Times, Burns is feeling the wrath of Weezer die hards. "I've actually received death threats over this, believe it or not," he told the Times. "Some people have told me they wish I would get AIDS. This whole campaign, I fully admit that it's silly." Please chill out, crazy Weezer fans.
Burns added that people aren't emptying their wallets for the jokey stunt - he's only raised $96 so far... which makes sense since it's a made-up thing that has no basis in reality! Or does it?! Now the group's drummer Patrick Wilson has taken to Twitter to try and strike a deal with the campaign organiser James Burns. "If they can make it [$]20[million]," he said jokingly, "we'll do the 'deluxe break-up'."
In other, realer Weezer news, the group added more dates to their "Memories" nostalgia tour, in which they'll perform their debut album and Pinkerton in their entireties. See the updated tour schedule below. And last night, the band performed on "Last Call With Carson Daly", doing the classics "Buddy Holly" and "Undone (The Sweater Song)".
