NEWS: Alexisonfire Call It Quits With Breakup Announcement

Tuesday , 09 Aug 2011

Canadian hardcore band Alexisonfire have announced that the band are going to split after two members quit.

The announcement was made in a post by vocalist George Pettit on the band’s official website after guitarists Wade MacNeil and Dallas Green quit.

Dallas Green voiced his intention to quit the band in 2010, but stayed to complete a tour later in the year.  He released his third album with his solo project City and Colour earlier in the year.

Wade MacNeil recently left the band to focus on his other project, Black Lung, which he formed in 2005.

Pettit explained that "replacing one guitar player/singer/writer was something we thought was possible, but replacing two would run the serious legacy of what we achieved."

The ‘Young Cardinals’ group are planning a final tour in their home country and “several special releases” to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.
