NEWS: Amy Winehouse Did Not Complete A Third Album Before Her Death
Monday , 01 Aug 2011
The 'Rehab' singer had been working on new songs since 2008, but her long time collaborator Salaam Remi - who has worked with the singer on previous albums Frank and Back to Black, and was working with her at the time of her death – has revealed nothing had been finished specifically for her third record.
Speaking to New York radio station Power 105.1 FM he said: "We were working on it; it's not a complete album. We had a lot of things going, there are recordings, but first things first, I think. We're trying to focus on what's at hand and what her family wants to do. So those reports of a release are false."
He did, however, add that the singer was as at her creative and emotive best when it came to writing new material just before she died.
He added: "To put it all in a nutshell, Amy loved to sing, to write - that ability never left her. She was very good at channelling her emotions into lyrics, and then being able to sing them. She was in a place to go forward and make it happen. The way that Amy and I always created was she would write and we would toss ideas around. Amy had strong opinions on everything. She was very opinionated about what she liked. At the end, she was a real person. She had a huge heart."
Amy Winehouse was cremated on Tuesday (26.07.11) in North London.
