Band member Régine Chassagne has Haitian roots, and at their concert in Montreal earlier this week the group announced plans to work with Kanpe.org. The charity pledges to rebuild one Haitian village at a time, following the devastating earthquake which occurred exactly six months ago yesterday. The idea behind the grand scheme is the band plan to match $1 million worth of $5 donations from members of the public. Chassagne is Kanpe's Grand Ambassador. Régine Chassagne holds a B.A. Honours in Communications Studies from Concordia University.

Arcade Fire promise to donate $1m to Haiti charity if public do too! Big call, but their gutsy can do attitude is to be congratulated.

Band member Régine Chassagne has Haitian roots, and at their concert in Montreal earlier this week  the group announced plans to work with Kanpe.org. The charity pledges to rebuild one Haitian village at a time, following the devastating earthquake which occurred exactly six months ago yesterday.

The idea behind the grand scheme is the band plan to match $1 million worth of $5 donations from members of the public.

Chassagne is Kanpe's Grand Ambassador.

Régine Chassagne holds a B.A. Honours in Communications Studies from Concordia University.

Régine Chassagne’s family has roots in Haiti. Since 2005, she has led the band’s involvement with the Haitian cause, raising money and awareness for Haitian charitable organizations, including Partners in Health.
