NEWS: Black Sabbath Star Tony Iommi Diagnosed With Lymphoma

Tuesday , 11 Jan 2011

Black Sabbath
star Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
The 63-year-old rocker posted a statement on his website announcing he is in the 'early stages' of the disease, which is cancer of the lymphocytes.

Often reffered to as the 'Iron Man of Rock', Iommi assured fans he remains "upbeat and determined" and is working with doctors to beat the illness.

The hard rock pioneers recently reformed with their original line-up (including Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward) to work on their first album together for 33 years with producer Rick Rubin.

Black Sabbath are planning to tour with their original line-up this May.
