NEWS: Bryan Ferry Recruits Kate Moss For Album Cover
Saturday , 11 Sep 2010Bryan Ferry has recruited Kate Moss as the cover-girl of his forthcoming solo effort 'Olympia'. For the artwork, the supermodel is depicted in the same pose as the 19th century Édouard Manet painting of the same name.
"Kate has long been the femme fatale of our age, as controversial as she is beautiful, and the most glamorous female icon since Marilyn Monroe," Ferry told the Metro. He added: "Olympia was a kind of early pin-up picture and, in a sense, a forerunner of some 20th century pop art, which I feel strongly connected to."
The singer collaborated with a number of guests for the record, including Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, Primal Scream bassist Mani, Scissor Sisters and Groove Armada. The album is the follow-up to 2007's 'Dylanesque' and features eight new songs and covers of Traffic's 'No Face, No Name, No Number' and Tim Buckley's 'Song To the Siren'.
The album is set for release on October 25.
