NEWS: Cee Lo Green Explains Controversial Song F**k You
Wednesday , 01 Sep 2010Cee-Lo's expletive-laden song 'F**k You' has been criticized for being in poor taste, which will be featured on his upcoming album The Lady Killer. In his interview with the AP, the Goodie Mob/Gnarls Barkley member says it's actually a work of art.
Cee-Lo recently spoke with the Associated Press about the song, Cee-Lo explained that “F**k You” is a work of art in his opinion.
"What I've tried to accomplish, like, is making art products ... so I still believe that (the song) can be classified as art because it's an original piece and the edge and alternative is there, and the integrity is intact," said Cee-Lo.
Although Cee-Lo wasn’t worried about radio play when “F**k You” was initially released, he has since then recorded a radio-friendly version titled “Forget You.”
"It wasn't like we were looking for it to be a radio hit of some sort,” Cee-Lo explained. “It was only until a short time after that we considered doing a clean version just in case.”
Cee-Lo’s solo album The Lady Killer will be released on December 7.
