NEWS: Daft Punk Get Acoustic For Tron Soundtrack
Monday , 22 Nov 2010It's been 28 years since the original Tron movie was released and five years since Daft Punk released their latest album 'Human After All'. Having completed the soundtrack to 'Tron: Legacy', Daft Punk has spoken out about the complexity of the project.
"Synths are a very low level of artificial intelligence, whereas you have a Stradivarius [violin] that will live for a thousand years, we knew from the start that there was no way we were going to do this film score with two synthesizers and a drum machine." Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo told Dazed & Confused.
Thomas Bangalter added "Coming from our background of making electronic music in a small bedroom, then ending up having our music performed by a 90-piece orchestra - we are lucky to have had the opportunity to experience some powerful moments artistically over the years, but recording this orchestra was a very intense experience."
Daft Punk are set to release the soundtrack on December 6th and 'Tron: Legacy' the movie will hit New Zealand cinemas on 16th December. We've seen a preview and it looks amazing.
