NEWS: Danger Mouse To Produce U2 Album

Friday , 22 Oct 2010

Bono (front man of arguably the biggest band in the world, U2) has revealed that Danger Mouse is working on their next album.

Danger Mouse (AKA Brian Burton) made a name for himself on the Gnarls Barkley collaboration in which he worked with rapper Cee Lo Green (Thomas Callaway). Prior to this, he produced a contraversial mashup album that combined an a cappella version of Jay-Z's Black Album with a collection of unauthorised samples from The Beatles self titled album (also known as the While Album).

Recently, Danger Mouse has collaborated with The Shins frontman James Mercer to form Broken Bells.

Anyway, Bono told Theage.com that the band has about 12 months to work with Brian. The band are also working on two other albums. The first, a club record featuring collaborations with RedOne, Black Eyed Peas, Will.i.am and David Guetta. The second, a concept album based on songs written for the Spider-Man musical, which opens on Broadway next month.
