NEWS: Deftones Fans Riot After Bankok Gig Cancellation

Thursday , 17 Feb 2011

Last night, a group of Deftones fans in Bangkok rioted because the band canceled their performance after making the fans wait an hour and a half.

The band were set to play the Thunderdome Arena (which can hold 25k peolpe), but were forced to cancel because of electrical problems.

The concert was due to start at 8pm (ICT), but was delayed until 9:30pm before the organisers announced that the show was canceled, according to the Associated Press.

A few hundred reacted angrily, throwing bottles, barrels, breaking windows and setting fire to tents and beer booths outside the venue.

The band said they hoped to return to Thailand "in the near future" on their Facebook page.

Fortunately no one is believed to have been hurt or injured during the disturbance.
