NEWS: Donavon Frankenreiter To Tour New Zealand
Tuesday , 15 Feb 2011Touring the world on rips and riffs, surfer-musician Donavon Frankenreiter lands on New Zealand shores this March for a national tour.
With guitar and surfboard at the ready, Donavon and band will make their way from South to North. Tickets go on sale 9am, Friday, February 18.
Donavon embarks on this his fifth visit to New Zealand following the release of his fourth studio album ‘Glow’ (Liberator Music). The 11-track release offering up a stellar collection of warm, uplifting, laidback, softly infectious tunes.
Californian-bred Hawaiian resident Donavon was introduced to New Zealand audiences in 2003, opening for long-time friend and fellow surfer Jack Johnson. The following year Donavon was welcomed back for his own headline dates and released the highly successful self-titled debut album.
After an extensive world tour in support of the album, including a further set of New Zealand tour dates with Johnson in 2005, in 2006 Donavon released a self-produced 2nd album ‘Move By Yourself’ and followed up again in August 2008 with ‘Pass It Around’ featuring like-minded souls Ben Harper and G-Love.
With guitar in hand, Donavon delivers the best of optimistic summery, acoustic-surfer sounds. So wipe the sand from your feet and get along to catch the glow with Donavon Frankenreiter this March.
