Friday , 24 Sep 2010

You would normally hear hip hop star Drake citing Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Jay-Z as influeces to his craft although talking to MTV News, Drake has said that his new tour 'Light Dream and Nightmares' was inspired by one of Woodstock's finest.
"It's a really stunning setup, heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix," Drake told MTV News. "Not necessarily in any set that he designed, but more so his music and his vibe. It's called the Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour - it's very psychedelic. It's very much based on day and night, like times of day, and I carry you through a full day in the show. It's really cool, and I'm enjoying it. It's great to have those elements."
Drake has even visited Hendrix's grave site in Washington.
Aswell has the legendary guitarist, Drake has also said he turned to concert DVDs, including one be eminem to help inspire him on his biggest tour to date.
The result of all of this is an jaw dropping light show that's more involved than Drake's first solo outing, the 'Away From Home Tour'.
He said the stage effects create a level of excitement comparable to a surprise guest coming out to join him.
"It's almost like when you're at a show and you know Jay-Z's about to come out or Eminem's about to come out," Drake explained. "It's the same thing, like I know there's fireworks about to go off in the air or this light show is going to go off and people will love it. It's a great experience for me as a performer. I still work just as hard, but it's almost as if I'm performing with another element. I'm growing."
Hopefully we see Drake touring down under sometime soon.
