NEWS: Foals Stage Dive At iTunes Festival

Monday , 05 Jul 2010

Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis ran and stage dived into the crowd at the iTunes Festival in London last night (July 4). The singer leapt into the moshpit at the Roundhouse in much the same vein as he did at Glastonbury just over a week ago when he dropped down from the stage rigging during 'Electric Bloom'.

Despite being mobbed by the crowd, this time Philippakis managed to keep his shirt on as he returned to the stage to hammer out the song on a single drum snare. But he managed to smash his mic at the end of the track after swinging it round in a circular motion.

During their hour set, the Oxford five-piece played four songs from their new album 'Total Life Forever' including a stunning rendition of 'Spanish Sahara' which you can watch below. They also played 'Antidotes' singles 'Balloons' and 'Cassius' which saw the crowd bellowing along to both tracks. Reacting to the raucous crowd, Philippakis declared early on: "This shouldn't be a Sunday night. It doesn't feel like a Sunday night."

Later the band then ended their set with 'Two Steps Twice', which saw the singer playing part of the song perched on an amp stack.
