NEWS: Friendly Fires Release New Song 'Live Those Days Tonight'

Wednesday , 23 Mar 2011

Mercury Prize nominated trio Friendly Fires have released the first single from their upcoming sophomore album Pala, which is due for release on May 16th. The song entitled 'Live Those Days Tonight' can be heard below.

Named after the island in Aldous Huxley’s 1962 novel ‘Island’, Pala has been produced by Friendly Fires themselves and Paul Epworth (award winning producer with credits including Bloc Party, Cee-Lo Green, Florence and the Machine). The album was recorded over the past twelve months in various locations including London, St. Albans, Rye in Sussex, Yvetot in France, and New York.

Pala is set to build on the success of Friendly Fires’ eponymous debut self-titled album that was released in September 2008, and went on to sell over 200,000 copies in the UK, picking up a Mercury Prize nomination and two Brit Awards nominations along the way.

The album will be released via British label XL Recordings on May 16th 2011.
