NEWS: Indie Band 'The Drums' Aren't Afraid of Success

Friday , 25 Jun 2010

The Drums have declared that the fact that they're "not scared of success" is what will mark them out from other indie bands.

The New York-based band released their debut album this month. Despite taking their influences from the 1980s indie scene, many of who looked down on commercial success, the band is keen to share their music with as many people as possible. "We're ambitious," declared frontman Jonathan Pierce. "The big difference between us and a lot of other indie pop bands is we're not afraid of success."

Catch The Drums live when they support Florence and The Machine at her auckland show in late July.
