NEWS: Jay-Z Says His Mother Helped Make Him 'Cool'

The hip-hop mogul who is married to Beyonce Knowles is regarded as one of the hippest men on the planet and believes surrounding himself with great women has helped him gain his reputation.

He said: "I'm around great women, starting with my mom. Women keep men cool. The hotter the chick the cooler the guy...that sounds like a really bad rap line!".

As well as being 'cool', Jay-Z also wants to inspire people and does that through his work. He told Gwyneth Paltrow in an interview for her GOOP newsletter:

"I think it's every human's job to inspire others, to feed one another's senses. Inspiration begets inspiration times infinity. Imagine if the person that was inspired to create the phonograph didn't share it with the world".

The '99 Problems' rapper also proved he was a thoughtful husband recently by surprising Beyonce with a trip to the Bahamas for their third wedding anniversary. He ensured their villa was filled with their favourite white flowers and champagne on ice, as well as laying on candle-lit seafood dinners on the beach.

What a gentleman!
