NEWS: Katy Perry To Appear On The Simpsons

Despite having her Sesame Street appearance canceled, Katy Perry already has her eye on another TV cameo.

Perry will ditch Elmo for bartender Moe and guest star on an upcoming Christmas-themed episode of Fox's "The Simpsons," scheduled to air December 6 in the States.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Perry will play herself on "The Simpsons," but will not be animated. Instead, she will play the role of bartender Moe's girlfriend in a live-action scene that features the show's cast as puppets.

The shows executive producer Al Jean released a statement joking "In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry." Perry's appearance was filmed before her wardrobe-related "Sesame Street" controversy.
