NEWS: LL Cool J To Host The 2012 Grammy Awards

LL Cool J has been announced as the host of this years Grammy Awards.

Now in its 54th year the Grammy Awards will revert back to having an official host of ceremonies after a 7 year break. In recent years, the position of host has been replaced by a string of guest presenters.

The rapper famous for both his music and film and television work released a statement today expressing his excitement over the new role: "I'm thrilled to be part of music's biggest night. I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show is a dream come true".

Confirmed to perform at the awards on February 12 are Nicki Minaj, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean, Bruno Mars plus a very special performance from the original members of The Beach Boys.

Adele has the most nominations this year with six, including album of the year, record of the year, and song of the Year.
