NEWS: MGMT and Paul McCartney Colaboration a no-go?

Friday , 13 Aug 2010

MGMT have revealed that Paul McCartney admitted he wanted to work with the band however hasn't been in touch about the collaboration since. "We did play a show with him [McCartney] last summer at New York park, which was really cool," he said. "But nothing has really come of the collaboration part of it."

Frontman Andrew VanWyngarden still openly admits that the band would still be interested in heading into the studio with the former Beatle.

VanWyngarden added: "We like Paul McCartney's songwriting abilities and musical sensibilities. His bass playing is unreal - he is definitely my favourite bass player."

Paul McCartney previously explained how he "wanted to work on some more dancey stuff with MGMT", but added that "it has to happen organically".
