NEWS: Mumford & Sons Cover The Nationals 'England'

Monday , 20 Jun 2011

Folk chart toppers Mumford and Sons have layed down a beautiful rendition of The Nationals 'England' as part of their recent live recording on VH1′s recently rebooted Unplugged series. Watch the performance below.

Having shared stages throughout the festival circuit with The National, Mumford and Sons had this to say in regards to why they chose to cover this song.

“Last summer we got to see them (The National), like, five or six times, and really loved High Violet as an album and that song ('England') obviously sticks out for us cause we’re English. Still trying to figure out if it’s offensive towards English people, but yeah, we’re making it non-offensive. We’re making it sort of like a real Britannia song today".

What do you think of Mumford and Sons version of The Nationals 'England'?
