NEWS: Muse Are Heading To The Studio Next Month

Tuesday , 16 Aug 2011

The 'Knights of Cydonia' rockers are preparing to make their sixth album, which they are planning to record in London, starting next month.

Bass player Chris Wolstenholme told BBC Radio 1: "September and October, that's when we're going to get into the studio to start writing the new album."

He also said he doesn't think the fact frontman Matt Bellamy has had a son, Bingham, with his fiancee, Kate Hudson, last month means they will cut back on touring in future. Chris added: "We're always going to be the kind of band that want to get out and play live. I can't ever imagine we'll be the kind of band that cut the touring down significantly."

Earlier this year Matt said he was looking forward to the band being together in London and taking their time to make the new album. He said: "We've actually never made a full album in London, we've made bits here occasionally. It would be nice to be based in the same place so we can go out and so we can make an album together and also socialise together at the same time. It also means we can make the album over a longer period of time without having to pressurise it all in to a three week studio session, you can spread it out."

The group - completed by drummer Dominic Howard - have previously made records across various studios in the UK, in the US, and their last album The Resistance was recorded in Lake Como Italy, where Matt has a home.
