NEWS: Muse To Play At Olympics Closing Ceremony

Muse have confirmed that they will be performing at the Olympic closing ceremony in London this weekend.
Having penned the official song of the 2012 Olympics, 'Survival', it comes as no real suprise that band will play a roll on Sundays closing ceremony. Speaking about the song drummer Dom Howard to NME the following;
"I'm happy with the song. It's a proper Muse song. It's not something we just did for the Olympics. They sowed a seed by asking us to do some music but then five months went by. We showed them a few songs when they asked us about (playing the) closing ceremony and they loved it. It represented the enormous competition of what the Olympics is".
The closing ceremony is set to be a true celebration of 50 years of British music with Muse joining already confirmed acts Ed Sheeran, and George Michael. Other acts rumoured but yet to be confirmed include the Spice Girls, The Who, Take That and Kate Bush.
Muse's new album, The 2nd Law, is due to be released on October 1st.
