NEWS: New Radiohead Album Almost Finished?

It's been a busy year for Radiohead. Way back in June, guitarist Ed O'Brien teased us by implying that their 8th studio album (recorded in Los Angeles) could be released before the end of the year. Now the band have only 49 days remaining to make this dream a reality. However, given the unpredictable nature of the bands marketing strategies, let's not rule it out.

In September bassist Colin Greenwood told NME that Radiohead had "just finished another group of songs" and were beginning to ponder creative methods for release. He said "I understand that we have become our own broadcasters and distributors, but I miss the editorialisation of music, the curatorial influences of people like John Peel or a good record label. I liked being on a record label that had us on it, along with Blur, Beastie Boys and The Beatles."

However, only a week after this interview, drummer Phil Selway told the Canadian Press "Maybe we need to go back to the drawing board" and that Radiohead may "throw it all out". In June Phil also released his solo album 'Familial'.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Italia (via Consequence of Sound), guitarist Colin Greenwood announced that the 10 track album is almost finished and that the band has plans for "a big tour" following it's release.
