NEWS: Phil Edwards Band Tour NZ In March & April

Tuesday , 15 Feb 2011

Following off the back of their radio hit and first single Crash, and shows throughout the summer, including Rhythm and Vines and the Whangamata Summer Festival, the Phil Edwards Band are set to release their debut album Slow Borders in March, through Rhythmethod.

Recorded in Auckland and the Hawke’s Bay, mixed in New York by Grammy Award-winning producer, mixer and engineer Dave O’Donnell (James Taylor, John Mayer, Eric Clapton) and mastered at Stirling Sound, New York, by Ryan Smith (Beyonce), Slow Borders has been a long evolving work in progress for this six-piece, hence the album title.

"The title basically sums up how the album has come together," says Phil Edwards.  “Each song has been slowly built and slowly bordered into what they are today.  There was some trial and error throughout, but now all the songs fit together just like they should.”

Formed in 2008, the Phil Edwards Band are Phil Edwards (vocals, guitar), Ryan Wilson (drums), Tom Charleson (guitar, vocals), Adrian Ashdown (bass), James Townend (harmonica, percussion, vocals) and Hamish McClean (keys, sax, trombone).

To celebrate the release of the album, the Phil Edwards Band will be playing a number of shows throughout March and April.
