NEWS: Plan B Brings New Album To The Big Day Out 2011

Friday , 05 Nov 2010

Plan B, AKA 26 year old Londoner Ben Drew’s second album The Defamation of Strickland Banks is a ferocious collision of retro soul, funk, rock and rap that sounds like Smokey Robinson fronting Rage Against The Machine.

With over 600,000 albums sold (double platinum in the UK) The Defamation of Strickland Banks has gone on to become the biggest selling UK record this year!

This is a great collection of tunes with soulful pop hooks, sung with the voice of an angel! Plan B twists genres, tells stories and defies expectations.

“I enjoyed every minute of making this record,” declared Ben.  “… A lot of people still think I’m some ignorant little ASBO kid off a council estate.  I think they’ll be shocked that I can actually sing… and write pretty cool songs.”

The Defamation of Strickland Banks received rapturous reviews on release and award nominations including Best New Act and Best Video nominations for ‘Prayin’ at the MTV EMA’s (he will also perform at the awards on Nov 7th). At the UK Video Music Awards, Plan B received the most nominations – 11 in total including Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction for Prayin’.

Be excited people, he is going off in the UK and come January 2011 we will be able to see him for ourselves at the Big Day Out – Friday 21st January.

Plan B 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks' is Out Now.
