NEWS: Portishead Begin Working on New Album
Friday , 02 Jul 2010

Portishead have announced that they are about to begin work on a new album.
Multi-instrumentalist Geoff Barrow confirmed that the band would start writing for the follow-up to 2008's 'Third' this year. Barrow revealed that the Bristol group had signed a new record deal, saying: "It's with a major. It's with the biggest record company in the world. It's with people we trust, which with a band is the most important thing".
'Third' did incredibly well. Although they got little support from the UK because they "don't represent a certain demographic of people, but we did Coachella [festival] and that was amazing." An album release date is yet to be announced, however fans will be happy to know that they wont be waiting 11 years as they did in between the band's 1997 self-titled LP and 2008's 'Third'
