NEWS: Ragamuffin 2012 Lineup Announced

Raggamuffin has announced the line-up for the 2012 festival and the one and only original voice of ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘Kingston Town’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ will be returning to New Zealand to headline New Zealand’s premier reggae festival.

As lead singer with the world-renowned group UB40, Ali Campbell has sold over 70 million records worldwide, notched up four number No. 1 world-wide singles and over 40 Top 40 UK singles.

Other big names joining Campbell are – Grammy Award Winning artist Billy Ocean, son of reggae legend and now star in his own right Marvin Priest, US reggae group Big Mountain, The Wailers’ Junior Marvin and Lucky Dube’s daughter Nkulee Dube.

Kiwis Kora and Three Houses Down will also be joining the line-up of international artists on the main stage and in response to requests for ‘more NZ artists’, fans will also get to enjoy performances from House of Shem, Cornerstone Roots, Sons Of Zion, Sweet & Irie, Tomorrow's People, Soljah, NRG Rising and Foundation. In addition the above artists, DJs Sir-Vere, Poroufessor and Beau Zee are also performing sets at this year’s festival.

This year and in celebration of Raggamuffin’s 5th anniversary, the festivities will begin on Friday night with the Mai FM Party. The night will be a mix of bands and DJs plus a night market. Tickets for this event can be purchased for $40 or you can include your Mai FM Party tickets with your Earlybird festival pass for $139*.
