NEWS: Ratatat Announce BDO Warm Up Show In Wellington
Thursday , 11 Nov 2010

Acclaimed Brooklyn duo Ratatat return to Wellington for a one off performance on the 19th January 2011, at the San Francisco Bath House.
Four albums into an eclectic and genre-defying career, Ratatat have smashed down any remaining walls which would see them easily categorized and boxed in. Is the music rock electronica, electronic rock, dance or head music?
Fittingly for the first group ever allowed to perform in the Guggenheim Museum, the rhetorical question, 'how do you dance to art?' is answered by Ratatat: 'Like this…'.
This pair of aural anarchists has never been content to offer up polite live renditions of their recorded works. Instead, the Ratatat live experience is a high-powered, teeth-rattling, all-round sensory thrill ride, where the diverse and adrenalized electronic indie rock is delivered amidst a sci-fi psychedelia of visuals.
A recent performance was described as '…majestic swoop of holographic sci fi shit, wires, leads and the chatter of percussion in the trees above... every time the light shines they come alive, soaring with the heartfelt weirdings of the quarta movimento'. Over the top? Undoubtedly. True? Most probably.
Touring on the back of their latest full length album LP4, Ratatat return to Wellington ahead of their Big Day Out tour. Ratatat will be supported by local lad, Disasteradio, a one-man electro-pop act who has just a released new album, Charisma.
