NEWS: Ringo Starr Fans Team Up To Save His House
Saturday , 28 Aug 2010

A group of avid Beatles fans have united in an attempt to stop the demolition of the house that Ringo Starr was born in.
The Save Madryn Street campaign was launched on the morning of August 25th and is headed by Ringo Starr lookalike Max Frudd.
The group are hoping to conserve the Victorian terraced house at 9 Madryn Street, Toxteth, one of hundreds in the area which are due to be bulldozed. Starr's birthplace has been repeatedly earmarked for demolition over the past five years as part of a plan to build more modern family homes in the area.
"We are going to fight tooth and nail in Liverpool, and around the world, to call a halt to this crazy decision to demolish Madryn Street," claimed Phil Coppell, one of the founding members of SMS. "The homes of Paul McCartney and John Lennon are already preserved and Ringo is no less important."
