NEWS: Exclusive Review Kanye West NYC Screening Of Runaway
Friday , 22 Oct 2010Kanye West premiered his 35 minute clip for ‘Runaway’ tonight at the Sunshine Landmark Cinemas in New York. Present at the screening, West took the opportunity to wax lyrical about haters, lovers and Selita Ebanks (and rightly so on the Selita front).
As well as ‘Runaway’ the clip features other tracks from Kanye’s fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Would help to be a little imbued before viewing it, however the cinematography is excellent, and the title track itself comes off brilliantly. How someone can simultaneously make you think he’s both a douche bag and a genius is in itself an impressive feat.
Draped in gold chains, Kanye talked about the clip’s colour palette, how he dropped out of art school to do music… his pre-speech was as much stand up as it was serious. The man’s hilarious, and ‘Runaway’ is worth a watch - even if it does feature a giant, creepy Michael Jackson effigy.
Here is it.
