Set in the serenity of Northlands beach and holiday haven, Mangawhai - Selective Soundz is the music festival celebration to peak the epic end of Summer.

Boasting a most impressive line up of live bands and DJs, licensed bars, gourmet food and sideshow stalls, in a casual and festive atmosphere.

Kora, who tops the line up, are renowned and revered for their massive live presence and dynamic stage show. Kora are the roots and dub outdoor festival band of the summer!  Their self-titled album debuted at #1 on the NZ Charts, and has already achieved double platinum status.

Also bound for The Selective Sounds music festival stage this year is a fresh Kiwi fusion of roots, reggae, hip hop, dubstep, and drum and bass, 5 piece band, six60 - who emerged from their bleak student flat (appropriately located at 660 Castle Street, Dunedin) to the praise of festival goers and Kiwi fans.  Their recent tour of NZ was a total sellout  - “bringing it to you live and massive” and are currently #1 on the NZ Singles Charts.

Local Northland lads, 1814 have been skanking up crowds nationwide and abroad with their live upbeat, funky approach to roots and reggae. Their debut album, Jah Rydem, has been rated as one of the finest this year and captures their live sound of soulful sax, deep groove and melody in true kiwi flavour.

Anika Moa is destined to charm audiences with her passionate songs, razor sharp wit and one of a kind talent for the live stage. A finalist in 2010's Silver Scrolls Awards and winner of the Best Female Solo Artist at the recent Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, Anika is one of the finest songwriters and performers this country has to offer.

Former member of hip hop group, Fast Crew, Dane Rumble also graces the Selective Soundz stage with a bounty of chart successes throughout both New Zealand and Australia, racking up three consecutive top 20 singles.  Live, his amazing musicians and dynamic songs are a perfect addition to the already stunning and thorough line up.

Continuing down the deep list of performers is Soljah who, after releasing their 6 track EP ‘Moving Up’ in July, are continuing to create waves throughout Aotearoa, wowing audiences with their take on foot stomping, rock cross reggae.  November sees the band on tour throughout the country, then into the studio to record their highly anticipated and eagerly awaited follow up album.

So before Summer is gone, pack the hackey sack (or firsbee, that works just as good), sport the triple coloured tea cosey, fire up the VW van and come celebrate the epic finale to the Summer of 2011 at Aoteoroa's own Selective Soundz Music Festival in Mangawhai.
