NEWS: Smirfnoff Night Project - Zombie Apocalypse
Tuesday , 22 Feb 2011

Zombie Apocalypse was the first of four events to be put on and filmed as part of the Smirnoff Night Project - a quest to find New Zealand’s most original, exciting ideas to create four unforgettable events. These once-in-a-lifetime experiences are filmed for a new series on FOUR to be hosted by Dave Gibson, Elemeno P front man and founder of online clothing company Closet.co.nz. The series will screen over four consecutive weeks starting April 23rd.
Picked up from Waitangi Reserve in army jeeps, anxious and excited humans were taken to the old Wellington Chest Hospital to participate in the event which was followed by an after party for both zombies and survivors at Betty’s.
The mastermind behind the Zombie Apocalypse event was 27 year old Wellington film student, Amber Cadaver. The theme for her event idea – Zombie Apocalypse, was no surprise to those who know her. “I tend to err on the dark side in my own music and film projects, so this competition was an opportunity I couldn’t resist – it’s been great fun.”
Rip It Up is giving away a double pass to the second Night Project event, 'The Greatest Shark Movie Ever, at Sea'. Enter today.
