NEWS: Social Network Trailer Helps Scala & Kolacny Brothers
Monday , 04 Oct 2010The two-minute trailer for David Fincher's 'The Social Network' tease's the famous story of Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, while watching you may notice the haunting rendition of Radiohead's Creep as the drama seems to escalate.
The creators of this somewhat spooky song are Scala & Kolancy Brothers, which consists of a 200 piece choir and its classically trained leaders - pianist Steven Kolacny and conductor Stijn Kolacny.
Steven says that the films creative team and director Fincher were looking for a "strange, creepy atmosphere" to match the trailer, and "Creep" best captured the mood out of nearly 70 arrangements the group had to offer. The movie trailer was followed by the Sept. 28 release of the film's score by Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor.
Since helping the film trailer get to 1.1 million views, the the act has managed to sign a U.S. record deal with Rhino Entertainment imprint ATCO Records.
ATCO will release Scala & Kolacny Brothers album titled "Circle," the group's latest batch of covers and original compositions which also features Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," Nirvana's "Lithium" and Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters. Rhino Entertainment president/CEO Kevin Gore believes the placement of "Creep" in "The Social Network" trailer will be the first of many for the act.
Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think of the track.
