NEWS: Splendour In The Grass Dates & Venue Confirmed

The dates and venue for the 2011 Splendour In the Grass are officially locked in. South-east Queensland’s Woodfordia site will again play host to this years festival from Friday July 29 to Sunday 31 July.

For a few weeks now there has been speculation that Splendour would be moved from Woodfordia, near Woodfood, as a result of the January floods but the festival organizers are commited to having the site fully repaired by the July date.

“We wouldn’t be announcing Woodfordia as the location for the 2011 Splendour In the Grass festival if we weren’t completely confident that was the case", said Splendour’s co-producers Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco.

This will be the second year that Splendour in the Grass will be held at the Woodfordia location while the approval process for the festival’s own permanent home at North Byron Parklands continues. Since 2006, Splendour In The Grass has been working toward establishing a permanent sustainable event venue to stage the festival at the 660 acre North Byron Parklands site at Yelgun in the north of the shire. The Parklands project is still undergoing a comprehensive approval process with the NSW Department of Planning and can’t be considered for this year’s festival.

Information on this year’s line-up and ticketing information will be announced in the coming months.
