NEWS: Street Chant Win The Critics Choice Award
Thursday , 16 Sep 2010

Auckland's most exciting punk three piece, Street Chant walked away with the first ever Critics Choice award last night at the Kings Arms Tavern.
Street Chant, Homebrew and The Naked and Famous were shortlisted for the new award and each played a half an hour (or thereabouts) set. After the performances a team of judges, including Rip It Up editor DJ Sir-Vere, discussed the merits of each band and decided a winner. Shannon Ryan announced the winner and invited Street Chant on stage to give an acceptance speech.
Street Chant will receive a massive prize pack including recording time at York Street Studios, $5,000 worth of equipment from NZ Rockshop and mentoring from Dave McLaughlin from McLaughlin Law, Lynda Parsons from Entertainment Accounting, touring guru Brent Eccles and various members of the Music Managers Forum.
Street Chant's new album Means is out now. Read about their new album on Street Chant's Myspace blog.
