NEWS: The Modfather Comes to New Zealand

Friday , 09 Jul 2010

From beginning to end, word on the street is this has been well worth the wait. Paul Weller known as the former lead singer of The Jam and The Style Council,  and is heading to New Zealand for the very first time as part of his Australasian Wake Up The Nation tour.

Both of his October shows sold out in a brief ten minutes enticing promoters to whack on third for his elaborate fan base who have been waiting literally a life time. Now perusing his solo project his latest album Wake Up The Nation is going to flood Auckland's Powerstation full of furry.

Wake up the nation is the tenth studio album by Paul providing punchy playful melodies like Find the Torch - Burn the Plans, No Tears To Cry, Fast Car / Slow Traffic and Trees, the offering is compact and complete.

He's crazy, ambitious and knows how to rock harder than some of our spring chickens.

He's a mod or if you will the Modfather, an icon and a well known public figure and hero to younger punk rock spawns in the industry. For an old fella, at 52 he's still got it. After all these years of intrepid silence he's here for three sell out shows and if you're after sound advice I'd say this ain't no zumba party, get ready for a work out New Zealand.
