The top 20 high school bands in New Zealand have now been found!

The following 20 bands have made it onto the shortlist from which the 8 National finalists will be selected on 17th August to fight off for Rockquest supremacy.

• Jayme Fitzgerald - Rotorua
• Jordan Skipper - Marlborough
• Kriston - Auckland Central
• Malcolm Jack - Bay of Plenty
• Massad - Auckland Central
• Peache Bones - Canterbury (2nd Night)
• Peasants of Eden - Nelson
• Saturday Sessions - East Auckland
• Te Paamu - Wellington & Hutt
• The Good Fun - Waikato
• The Guest - Canterbury (1st Night)
• The Velvet Regime - Wellington & Hutt
• Vice Versa - Wanganui

The Smokefreerockquest national final this year will be held in Hamilton, at Founders Theatre on September 11. Tickets go on sale from Ticketek in August. Out of the above 20, eight bands will play off for the huge prize pool that makes Smokefreerockquest such an amazing spring board into the music industry. Put it in your diary now!
