NEWS: Trent Reznor "Nine Inch Nails Is Not Dead"
Thursday , 10 Mar 2011
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is quite the busy man. Having sealed up his first Academy Award last week for his work on The Social Network, Reznor has announced that his band Nine Inch Nails are set to continue, with work on a new NIN album high on his list of priorities.
Since announcing in February 2009 that NIN would be taking a break the industrial rock king has announced on the band's forums that they will be continuing:
"The three columns of things I'm currently funneling music into - HTDA (How To Destroy Angels), NIN and film work - I believe will start to make more sense to you (and me) as everything unfolds. By having a few different outlets for my work I'm finding more inspiration within each one. No, Nine Inch Nails is not dead and I plan to focus on that next."
At the moment Reznor is busy finishing the score for David Finch's highly anticipated remake of The Girl With The Drag Tattoo with composing partner and co-oscar winner Atticus Ross.
"Atticus and I are hard at work scoring David's next film, which will be opening this Christmas," he wrote. "We've been composing quite a bit of music for this and have just begun to see some of what's been shot. Trust me when I say this film (and of course the music!) will not disappoint."
And to cap all that off, rumours floating around the internet this week have been confirmed with Reznor also signing up to write the music (and star) in Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch) and Tim burton's upcoming new project Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Exciting times for Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails fans.
