The Chemical Brothers are coming back to take New Zealand Further in 2011!

The Chemical Brothers phenomenal LIVE experience… an experience which has continually pushed the boundaries of multimedia, changed the face of large-scale electronic performances forever, and one for which Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons are now renowned, and revered for worldwide will again be unleashed to their New Zealand devotees in March 2011 at Auckland’s Vector Arena.

Now, Future Entertainment is excited to announce special guests, DJ extraordinaire and music personality Zane Lowe, plus  DJ, James Holroyd a.k.a. Boggy will be joining The Chems for one explosive night of entertainment.

New Zealand born DJ, TV presenter and musician Zane Lowe now based in London, presents BBC Radio 1’s evening show.  Zane a.k.a. ‘Zipper’ is tirelessly dedicated to discovering and exposing new music; bands such as Artic Monkeys, Block Party, Editors, Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs have all benefited from Lowe’s support and endorsement.

Prior to becoming a radio DJ Lowe was in hip hop group Urban Disturbance for 6 plus years. He now collaborates with musicians Andy Lovegrove and Hamish Clark under the guise Breaks Co-Op. Breaks Co-Op have released two albums - Roofers (1997) and The Sound Inside (2005).

Lowe is also notable for his rowdy and energetic live DJ sets, having previously opened for Muse, Foo Fighters and The Killers.  As special guest of The Chems expect the unexpected from Lowe on this homecoming  performance.

DJ James Holroyd started plying his trade back in 1991 in the heady days of the original Back to Basics at Leeds' Music Factory. He was introduced to the decks playing a mixture of funk, house, disco and hip-hop, and by 1992 his unique style and cheeky personality had secured him a job as resident.

In 1993 he joined forces with the Jockey Slut Magazine team to form a house and techno based club night called Bugged Out! and in 1997 this weekly night earned itself the Muzik Magazine Award for ‘Club of the Year’. James is still resident at Bugged Out! which has now moved to Cream in Liverpool and has become a monthly night.

Connections made in Manchester had also lead to Boggy hooking up with the Chemical Brothers. Tom and Ed were so impressed with Holroyd's DJ style that they invited him to tour with them in England from 1995 and then America from 1997.  In1998 Basics reopened its doors at The Mint Club in Leeds and James was once again invited to spin as resident DJ alongside Ralph Lawson. After touring South America with the Chemical Brothers on their Surrender Tour in 1999, they personally requested James as their support artist for their Australian and New Zealand Tour next year.

Get ready to go Further with The Chemical Brothers and special guests Zane Lowe and James Holroyd!
