TRAILER: Hesher

Every now and then a trailer is in itself a beautiful work of art. They’re so often these formulaic, spoilerific, strobey, horrible little things. But when they’re done well, it really is a joy. (Watch the trailer below.)

Play this bad boy with your headphones or speakers at maximum level and see for yourself. If you don’t immediately hear Metallica’s ‘Battery’, you’re watching the wrong trailer and the other one isn’t so good - so be sure to watch the right one. The movie itself looks equally fantastic.

It’s an indie, festival type affair, starring Natalie Portman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Rainn Wilson. The titular Hesher is a dude with greasy long hair who loves metal, porn, drugs and fire. Choice.  Plus it's written by Animal Kingdom filmmaker David Michod. He enters the life of a young, bullied kid trying to deal with the death of his mother. The pair form an unlikely friendship and help each other out. I hope to hell this gets into cinemas here, I really do.
