Kanye Omari West (born June 8, 1977) is an American rapper, singer, and record producer. West first rose to fame as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, where he eventually achieved recognition for his work on Jay-Z's album The Blueprint, as well as hit singles for musical artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Janet Jackson. His style of production originally used pitched-up vocal samples from soul songs incorporated with his own drums and instruments.

"I know y'all need the music so I'm dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc," Kenye later announced that he is currently working on projects for Pusha T, Raekwon, Mos Def, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams.

Kanye West has decided to ditch 'Good Ass Job' as the album title for his forthcoming new LP. The rapper released the update about the follow-up to 2008's '808s And Heartbreak' via his newly registered Twitter account. "The album is no longer called 'Good Ass Job'," he tweeted on Twitter.com/KanyeWest. "I'm bouncing a couple of titles around now."

This announcement comes after an fued between West and SNL due to the comedy show openly mocked West in an opening monologue for his MTV VMA interruption with Taylor Swift. Kanye West’s My Dark Twisted Fantasy was really good – great actually. Jay-Z’s latest Blueprint was a bit average to be honest. Maybe Watch the Throne is the self-proclaimed King of New York’s attempt at wrestling back the crown from the very protégé he created (and who co-wrote the record).
