Murray Cammick's Blog
Rip It Up was founded by Murray Cammick and Alastair Dougl in June 1977. It was produced as a free monthly magazine - printed on news print in black and white with one colour. Cammick ran the magazine almost single handedly until 1994 and remained as editor until 1998. He has also discovered some of New Zealand's best musical talent via his labels Wildside Records (Shihad, Head Like A Hole, Hallelujah Picassos) and Southside Records (Upper Hut Posse, Moana and the Moahunters, MC OJ and Rhythm Slave). Cammick still contributes to Rip It Up regularly.

All talk of the soap opera lives of one of music’s biggest families needs to be put aside; it’s time to revisit the classic tunes that made them famous in the first place.
MURRAY CAMMICK'S BLOG: Who’s Your Favourite Soul Singer?
Brought to you by
RIU
Murray Cammick catalogues the very best soul men of the past 50 years in possibly his geekiest column yet. The question, “who’s your favorite soul singer” is a frustrating one for me as I have over 30 favourite male soul singers and a similar number of favorite female soul singers.
