New York Film Festival
The New York Film Festival has been a major film festiival since it began in 1963 in New York. The films are selected by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The non-competitive festival was established by Amos Vogel and Richard Roud.

The New York film festival, which is celebrating its 48th year this September, has announced that the new Clint Eastwood production, Hereafter, will be added to the list of films to be screened at the event. The film joins David Fincher's (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) 'The Social Network' and Julie Taymour's (Across the Universe) 'The Tempest' as one of the most anticipated screenings at the event. Fincher's film in particular, which depicts the beginnings of the Facebook website, has already received favorable reviews and is expected to be a highlight of the festival.
